What costs can we tell you about?
Ok. In the interest of being completely transparent and honest, we'll tell you about some other costs that are not associated with Thrifty Web Designs but may be necessary to get your site looking and working the way you want it. These options, however, are completely up to you and within your control. There is no requirement to pay any more than the ten dollars a month to get your site up and available to all.
- Domain Registration - If you don't currently have a domain name (a.k.a. website address, URL, etc. - example: www.yourdomainname.com) and will want one, then you may need to work with a domain registrar to get one. You can get one for less than $10 a year from GoDaddy.com. This is about the price you will pay other registrars to get your domain name. A domain name is not required to get your site going however. If you don't have one, we'll create a directory under our site to host yours (example: www.thriftywebdesigns.com/yoursitename).
- Website Design Skins - If the website designs we offer don't appeal to you, then you have the option of purchasing your own design skins to apply to your website. The good news is these are also pretty affordable... usually less than $100 for several designs/colors in a single pack. We'll even help you apply the new design to your site for free! You can find a wide range of design skin packs at snowcovered.com.
- Custom Graphic Design - If you are interested in adding custom graphics, logos, or touched up photos to your website, you will likely need some help (unless of course this is something you have experience doing). We are happy to discuss your needs with you and may be able to help you at a reasonable price. However, as we mentioned before, our focus is on maintaining a low-cost model that allows us to provide great service to a large number of customers. If we can meet your needs and still maintain this focus, great! If not, we'll be happy to refer you to other web graphic designers that can help (sorry... we can't control their prices).
- Custom Site Functionality - If you decide there is a feature you want on your site that isn't available through our standard offering, we can help. Fortunately, the website platform we're working with offers a lot of flexibility to meet various needs of our customers. An example of this might be the development of a Real Estate Directory to list properties. Although this isn't something we offer out-of-the-box, we can provide such a customization for a reasonable price. If you are interested in having custom functionality developed for your website, we'll do our best to come up with a quote that doesn't bust your budget.
- On-Going Site Management - Our site administration tools are easy-to-use and powerful. However, some of our clients simply prefer to have the management of their website supported by our staff to save time. We will do our best to streamline any administrative functions required to keep your website up to date at all times and eliminate this need. However, if there are sections of your website requiring regular attention to remain relevant to your audience and you don't have the time to manage it, we can help. A site management fee would be added to your monthly statement to cover this support.
